Sammy Turton (4stringboy) wanted the ukulele to be dressed in black, which is why the Flight 4SB has a gloss black top, black tuners, black bridge pins, and a first for Flight—a black deluxe gig bag.  The ukulele also features some natural elements, such as a gloss finish on the rosewood body that reveals its natural grain, as well as the rosette, cutaway, bindings, fret markers and headstock which are finished with caramel swirls of spalted maple. A classic gets a makeover Solid Spruce Top, Solid Rosewood Back and Sides We paired a solid spruce top with solid a rosewood back and sides to achieve a sound that is both deep, warm and rich in the mid and lows as well as providing a clarity and projection in the high end. This is a very common combination of guitar tonewoods that works incredibly well on this tenor ukulele. Let's play African mahogany neck & rosewood fingerboard The neck of the Flight 4SB is made of African mahogany.  It is strong and smooth, adding to the warm tone of the Flight 4SB.  The fretboard is made of rosewood, a beautiful, strong, and hard wood that can add warmth to the sound of an instrument while lessening harsh higher frequencies of an instrument. Pitch perfect Bone compensated saddle and pin bridge The Flight 4SB features a rosewood bridge, as well as a real bone nut and a compensated saddle. Compensated saddles help to properly set the intonation of each string. The Flight 4SB includes a pin bridge system, which helps keep the strings properly aligned on the ukulele, as well as to create a break angle over the saddle that transfers vibrations efficiently to the soundboard of the ukulele. Be unique Acacia fingerboard At Flight, we like to try and test the latest ideas in instrument building. This has resulted in an acacia fretboard on our Mustang ukulele. We know that the sound of a ukulele depends as much on the woods in its neck and fretboard as the body. The added bonus is that the appearance of the fretboard adds to the wild, uninhibited appearance of the Mustang. To spice it up even further, we decided to add offset fretboard markers, located not in the middle of the fret, but on the side. Infinite sustain String-through bridge String-through bridge is one of the latest ukulele trends. It makes the top resonate better, due to strings being attached directly through the top soundboard, and not to the bridge. Changing the strings might seem a bit confusing at first, but actually it is easier and we are going to upload a tutorial on our Youtube channel really soon.
