Double Kick Heroes is an action - packed rhythm game , i.e. a representative of a specific genre in which the fun is about pressing certain buttons to the beat of the music. Over the years, this mechanic has found application in various productions; in 1997, we played rapper in PaRappa the Rapper , a few years later we played plastic guitar in Rock Band , and then we traveled through the dark vaults in Crypt of the NecroDancer . However, thanks to the production discussed here, created by the French studio Headbang Club, we can fight zombies.
Story
While playing, we get to know the fate of five metal fans - Lincoln, Snake, Derek, Randie and James. Gentlemen and ladies live in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies, but they don't care much about it and they travel through locations in search of rock stars in a car, armed to the teeth, called the Gundillac.
Gameplay
Double Kick Heroes uses the classic mechanics of rhythm games, but attracts attention with an unusual theme. During the game we observe the action from a 2D perspective; we are driving a car on the way and there are tons of zombies running behind us. The vehicle moves by itself, while on our head is playing metal pieces, thanks to which the machine attacks the creatures with the use of mounted rifles. The gameplay, as in other games of this type, consists in pressing the designated buttons at appropriate moments. At the bottom of the screen there is a special field with moving points, symbolizing various buttons. When they fly into the yellow field, press the button. If we're doing well, the car gains strength and shoots faster or shoots more powerful missiles. However, if we skip the next "notes", our attacks weaken and give the opponent a chance to catch up.
