For two Pianos. The Turkish word ' Karsilama ' refers to a popular couple’s folk dance in 9/8 meter. Originally, the word ' Karsilama ' meant 'face-to-face greeting.' Avner Dorman thought it would be appropriate to write a couple’s dance for two pianists, since a Piano duo plays facing each other. The piece is structured as a set of variations. Each presents a different way to dance the 9/8 rhythm, as well as a different way two people might greet each other face-to-face. The Palestinian and Israeli piano-duo Duo Amal gave the premiere of Karsilama in Hamburg, Germany, in 2012, and performs the piece around the world.

Franz Liszt (1811-1886) was widely regarded as the most expressive and technically adept virtuoso pianist of his generation. He was taught to play the Piano by his father, and started giving concert performances at the age of nine. He was also a prolific composer in the Romantic style. Perhaps unsurprisingly, his Piano compositions often require considerable technical dexterity. The Piano Concerto No. 2 In A Major was initially written in 1839, but revised four or more time before its final publication in 1861. It is formed of a single movement, divided into six sections. This version has had the orchestral part transcribed for a second Piano, enabling easy study or practice of the solo part, or reference to the work as a whole.
