Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy: Hochzeitsmarsch (Arr. Theodore Dubois) Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847) in 1842 wrote the incidental music to Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' Op.61. Theodore Dubois arranged the Orchestral 'Wedding March' to be found therein for the romantic French Organ of his time. Francois Clement Theodore Dubois (1837-1924) comes from the tradition of the Paris Conservatoire and finally became its director from 1895 to 1905, as successor of his teacher Ambroise Thomas. One of his occupations was as organist at St. Madeleine's church in Paris. Of his compositions only his sacral works have survived beyond his death. Thus was created an impressive piece (a 'Marche nuptiale'), which does show certain similarities to the 'Marche pontificale' by Lemmens. SEK 114.00 1
