Cordyline Red Star Gift Wrapped

Cordyline Red Star Gift Wrapped

Enjoy superb Mediterranean impact with the deep red, arching, sword-shaped leaves of Cordyline 'Red Star'. Splendid on the patio, contrasting beautifully with the more familiar greens of other plants and bringing a tropical feel to the garden.A native of New Zealand, 'Red Star' is a compact and evergreen foliage plant with glorious arching, bronze-red leaves and, on mature plants, branches of sweetly fragranced, ivory-white flowers in summer. An ideal specimen for growing in pots on patios and balconies, why not experiment and make a real tropical paradise by growing them alongside other tropical plants such as Cannas, or broad-leaved Zantedeschias.Over time, this variety branches into a small, evergreen tree resembling a palm, creating a unique look all year-round and for many years, adding colour to the garden when all else begins to fade.Easy to grow, Cordyline need little maintenance, and pruning is limited to just removing any dead leaves in the spring. Able to withstand -7C winter conditions, we do however suggest frost protection with fleece, wrapping, or bringing it into a garage or porch during those particularly cold months.Plant in a pot and grow outside through summer before moving to a protected space such as a greenhouse or conservatory for the winter. As plants mature they become more frost hardy so can be left outside in all but the coldest weather.Supplied as an established, gift wrapped plant in a 7 litre pot, standing at roughly 60-80cm tall, ready to plant. An ideal present for a loved one, this plant arrives gift wrapped in a brown hessian bag, complete with a green fabric bow, ready to gift. Please note: Delivery may take up to 14 days for this product. Italian Cypress Tree Totem Pole

Italian Cypress Tree Totem Pole

If you've ever travelled around the Mediterranean, you will have seen Italian Cypress Trees dotted on hills and in formal gardens, particularly in the south or Italy. Instantly recognisable for a tall, slender form, they're breathtaking, wonderfully elegant, and even supplied here as a big and established statement tree, more than 1m tall! 'Totem Pole' is a naturally narrow variety with dense growth, emerging arrow-straight. These trees are completely hardy in the UK and evergreen, so look magnificent through the year. Preferring a sunny location and well-drained soil, they're drought tolerant and very easy to look after, even growing reasonably quickly.Although the branches of this Cupressus semperviren grow vertically without training, it will benefit from regular clipping, in the same way as most other conifers do. The more it is clipped, the tighter and denser it will become. This also reduces the risk of any branches falling out of shape, especially under a winter flurry of snow. Any branches that do bend can be pruned out or tied back into position.Italian Cypress Trees bring a classic Mediterranean look to the garden, spectacular in groups and borders, adding height without taking up too much growing space, and they thrive in large pots on a terrace or either side of a door or gate. This graceful beauty always draws admiring glances, only getting better with age!Supplied as an established tree, 125-150cm tall in a 10L pot, ready to plant. Please note: Delivery may take up to 14 days for this product. The approximate listed height of this variety and dimensions of the supplied nursery pot are subject to change on delivery, depending on seasonal conditions.A delivery surcharge applies to this product as it is supplied in an XL Parcel.
