Cotton satin - the best of both worldsHow about trying our soft cotton fabric in a range of beautiful colours for your next creative project. It's soft and comfortable to work with.Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven. This means that when we say cotton satin, it has the same beautiful weave as more 'classic' satin, while the cotton quality gives a more matt finish to the fabric.  And what can you use cotton satin for? Well, that’s entirely up to you. We prefer using it for bed linen. The natural material of the cotton in the delicate satin weave makes for some really lovely home made bed linen. As with so many other cottons, it is also suitable for clothing. Cotton is comfortable to wear and the fine weave gives it a nice finish - for a summer shirt or skirt, for example. Cotton satin is also perfect for a tablecloth for the table. Sew the tablecloth yourself or select "Sew as a tablecloth" and we will sew it for you (click on the text for details). Practical information about cotton satinMade from 100% cotton, it's soft and fluffy and, as always, you buy the fabric by the metre, so you get exactly the length you need. The fabric is 145 cm wide, has a weight of 130 grams and shrinks about 8% in the wash. You can wash it at 60° and iron at medium heat - but avoid the tumble dryer; let it air dry instead. TIP: Finish your seams properly - satin tends to fray a lot. You could also consider using a wider seam allowance to secure your seams or use overlock stitching. As always - test your seams on a scrap piece beforehand to see which technique works best for your piece of fabric. Search "9 tips for sewing satin" for more tips. What is satin? Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven, where one side of the material is smooth and shiny. The wood is broken down in a chemical process and spun into textile fibres.Lyocell is produced under environmentally friendly conditionsThe method used to convert the plant fibres into textile fibre is similar to that used to produce viscose. However, while not necessarily the case for viscose, Lyocell is always produced in a closed system. No wastewater from Lyocell production is pumped back into the natural environment. More or less all process chemicals and water are recycled.Enjoy Lyocell's moisture-wicking propertiesLyocell has an amazing capacity to absorb sweat and release it again quickly. Lyocell actually releases moisture 50 % faster than cotton. This means that Lyocell regulates body temperature and helps you maintain body water balance.Lyocell is anti-bacterialGood moisture management also means that Lyocell has an anti-bacterial effect. The loveliest projects in fleeceFind your favourite colour and start creating your new project! Polar fleece is light, soft and stretchy - a great material that also insulates. That means it's perfect for lining a jacket or a nice, fluffy vest, for example. This is how easy it is to make a fleece blanketChoose the colour and cut the blanket to the exact size you want and voila: you have a new fleece blanket. It doesn't get any easier than this. And yes - it's good enough - you don't need to sew the edges; the material won't run. If you want to give your rug a nice finish with a sewn edge, we recommend using jersey needles, which are specially developed for qualities like this. They penetrate the fabric easily without leaving holes. Or how about making a reversible blanket or vest with two different colours of fleece - double up on warmth, softness and use. Fleece dries quickly, is robust and durable and therefore very easy to bring along, for example as extra blankets in the caravan. Practical information about polar fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need. Light, colourful and a beautiful drape! Viscose is a popular fabric for many fashion designs. It's a light and soft material with good breathability, while also being comfortable to wear.  The beautiful drape is especially pronounced in tops, dresses, and shirts, where even with the simplest designs, you achieve a stylish look. The design is up to you: Does the shirt need a small collar? The top a boat neck? Or are you into ruched details?  That being said, viscose is also well-suited for light trousers. We prefer them with a bit of width in the legs, so you once again benefit from the lovely drape.  Choose from many stunning colours.  What is viscose? Viscose has been used for clothing for over 100 years. The fabric consists of processed and regenerated cellulose, for example from wood pulp or cotton waste. It resembles natural fibres like cotton and silk.  Some practicalities The fabric is 100% viscose, is 130 cm wide, and you can of course choose the length you need. Wash at 40°C, iron at medium heat, and allow to air dry. Expect 5% shrinkage after washing.  Remember to use the right needles – we recommend using a universal needle or a microtex needle in size 70.

Woven oilcloth off white

Our acrylic coated woven oilcloth fabrics have a matte surface very similar to regular fabric cloth. They add a touch of elegance and luxury to any home décor. Always use the tablecloth with the acrylic coated side facing upwards. You can easily wipe of foods and beverages of the oilcloth, however, be aware of types like ketchup, sauces, oil dressings, lemonade and the like can leave stains. Always wipe of immediately with a damp cloth, wrung in warm water if necessary, with a little detergent. It prolongs the service life. For stubborn stains, you can wash the tablecloth at 30 degrees in the washing machine, but do not use the spin cycle and tumble dryer. We recommend ironing the tablecloth after each wash to activate the water and dirt-repelling treatment. Remember to iron the tablecloth on the back. Note: This type of oilcloth is not suitable for damp outdoor environments. Remember to always bring the tablecloth inside after outdoor use. Can be discoloured by the sun. Note! All our oilcloths are free from harmful chemicals. With a purchase of 10 metres or more of the same product number, the oilcloth is delivered rolled up on a tube.
