High-k Gate Dielectric Materials Applications with Advanced Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) This volume explores and addresses the challenges of high-k gate dielectric materials one of the major concerns in the evolving semiconductor industry and the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS). The application of high-k gate dielectric materials is a promising strategy that allows further miniaturization of microelectronic components. This book presents a broad review of SiO2 materials including a brief historical note of Moore’s law followed by reliability issues of the SiO2 based MOS transistor. It goes on to discuss the transition of gate dielectrics with an EOT ~ 1 nm and a selection of high-k materials. A review of the various deposition techniques of different high-k films is also discussed. High-k dielectrics theories (quantum tunneling effects and interface engineering theory) and applications of different novel MOSFET structures like tunneling FET are also covered in this book. The volume also looks at the important issues in the future of CMOS technology and presents an analysis of interface charge densities with the high-k material tantalum pentoxide. The issue of CMOS VLSI technology with the high-k gate dielectric materials is covered as is the advanced MOSFET structure with its working structure and modeling. This timely volume will prove to be a valuable resource on both the fundamentals and the successful integration of high-k dielectric materials in future IC technology. | High-k Gate Dielectric Materials Applications with Advanced Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) GBP 82.99 1
K-pop – The International Rise of the Korean Music Industry K-pop described by Time Magazine in 2012 as South Korea’s greatest export has rapidly achieved a large worldwide audience of devoted fans largely through distribution over the Internet. This book examines the phenomenon and discusses the reasons for its success. It considers the national and transnational conditions that have played a role in K-pop’s ascendancy and explores how they relate to post-colonial modernisation post-Cold War politics in East Asia connections with the Korean diaspora and the state-initiated campaign to accumulate soft power. As it is particularly concerned with fandom and cultural agency it analyses fan practices discourses and underlying psychologies within their local habitus as well as in expanding topographies of online networks. Overall the book addresses the question of how far Asian culture can be global in a truly meaningful way and how popular culture from a marginal nation has become a global phenomenon. | K-pop – The International Rise of the Korean Music Industry GBP 44.99 1

Transforming Early Head Start Home Visiting A Family Life Education Approach Research on home visiting shows that Early Head Start (EHS) home-based programs benefit from additional training and resources that streamline philosophy and content. In this essential guide Walsh and Mortensen propose that alignment with Family Life Education’s (FLE) strengths-based methodology results in greater consistency through a model of prevention education and collaboration with families. This text is the first to outline linkages between FLE and EHS home visiting. It explores a qualitative study of FLE integrated in a current EHS home-based program and application of FLE methodology to home visiting topics. This approach will influence professional practice and provide a foundation for developing evidence-based home visiting practices. Online content accompanies the text with videos demonstrating the FLE approach in action and discussion questions to encourage engagement with and understanding of the core material. Blood and Home in Early Modern Drama Domestic Identity on the Renaissance Stage In this volume the author argues that blood was crucially a means by which dramatists negotiated shifting contours of domesticity in 16th and 17th century England. Early modern English drama vividly addressed contemporary debates over an expanding idea of the domestic which encompassed the domus as well as sex parenthood household order the relationship between home and state and the connections between family honor and national identity. The author contends that the domestic ideology expressed by theatrical depictions of marriage and household order is one built on the simultaneous familiarity and violence inherent to blood. The theatrical relation between blood and home is far more intricate than the idealized language of the familial bloodline; the home was itself a bloody place with domestic bloodstains signifying a range of experiences including religious worship sex murder birth healing and holy justice. Focusing on four bleeding figures—the Bleeding Bride Bleeding Husband Bleeding Child and Bleeding Patient—the author argues that the household blood of the early modern stage not only expressed the violence and conflict occasioned by domestic ideology but also established the home as a site that alternately reified and challenged patriarchal authority. | Blood and Home in Early Modern Drama Domestic Identity on the Renaissance Stage GBP 48.99 1

Learning Begins at Home A Study of a Junior School and its Parents First published in 1968 Learning Begins at Home records an attempt by two researchers to initiate and assess an innovation in a school in a working-class neighbourhood. The influence of parents upon children’s achievement is a platitude of education. The vital question is whether schools can become centres for education for adults as well as children influencing the parents directly and the children indirectly through the parents. The research reported in this book suggests that it would be worthwhile for teachers to give more of their time to cooperation with parents. Family and School Originally published in 1983 this book offers a perspective on the secondary school years from the standpoint at home. In the early 1980s as now there was no shortage of advice to parents on how they should bring up their children and what their relationship should be with the schools their children attended. More rarely heard was the parent’s voice of experience on the stages of family life and how the children’s school life is seen from the family point of view. The purpose of this book was to urge reconsideration of taken-for-granted assumptions about the appropriate relationship between home and secondary school. It can be read today in its historical context. | Family and School GBP 85.00 1

Demons of Domesticity Women and the English Gas Industry 1889–1939 Demons of Domesticity offers a social history of the English gas industry from the 1880s to the late 1930s with an emphasis on the corporations that served London and the Home Counties. It documents the hitherto unexamined role that women played in the development of the industry by considering two major interlocking themes: the expansion of sales occupations for women in the English gas industry and the parallel growth and diversification of the industry's marketing strategies. During the late-nineteenth century the home became the focal point for a number of debates concerning female employment and gender roles. As an increasing number of labour saving domestic devices came onto the market women found themselves targeted by manufacturing companies and utility suppliers both as consumers and advocates. Foremost among these companies were representatives of the gas industry who actively addressed domestic issues. As the promoters purveyors and consumers of domestic technology Demons of Domesticity suggests that English female employees and consumers were not the hapless dupes of corporate marketing but instead had clear ideas about how domestic technology could and should be used to reconfigure the public and private spaces of work and home. | Demons of Domesticity Women and the English Gas Industry 1889–1939 GBP 48.99 1
