Arches - Aquarelle Rough Watercolour Block 20 x 14"

Arches - Aquarelle Rough Watercolour Block 20 x 14"

Finish: Rough Sheets: 20 Rough watercolour block Available in several sizes & finishes Includes 20 sheets gummed on 4 sides Traditionally made on a cylinder mould using 100% cotton Sized to the core with natural gelatin, a process exclusive to ARCHES Ideal for all wet techniques including watercolour, acrylic, gouache and ink Available in several sizes, these Rough Aquarelle blocks from ARCHES provide a professional-quality surface with an exceedingly textured finish. Gummed on 4 sides, each block includes 20 sheets of traditionally made watercolour paper ideal for all wet techniques including watercolour, acrylic, gouache or ink. Each sheet has an authentic ARCHES watermark, which becomes visible when held up to light (note, there will be less pulp in this area). Made using 100% long cotton fibre on a slow turning cylinder mould, enabling even distribution & spread of fibres for a professional-quality paper that slackens uniformly when wet, offering the artist greater control.  This process produces paper with high grammage & exceptional strength, especially when they are gelatin sized to the core. ARCHES is the only paper mill in the world to gelatin size its watercolour paper "to the core", preserving the lustre & transparency of colours whilst preventing paint from penetrating into the paper itself.  This allows for superposing of washes, provides additional resistance to tearing & increased absorption of water with limited deformation.

Da Vinci - Cosmotop 5040 Mottler Brush Size 20

Da Vinci - Cosmotop 5040 Mottler Brush Size 20

Bristles: Synthetic Sizes: 6 Sold Individually Extra strong synthetic fibres High elasticity Ideal for the application of varnishes and glazes Rust-proof stainless steel ferrules Red and black polished handles Handmade in Germany Video: Da Vinci Cosmotop Mottler 5040 Series Brush Demo These Mottler brushes are manufactured by Da Vinci, the world's finest brushmaker, in Germany. The Cosmotop Mottler 5040 range is composed of dark brown synthetic fibre mixture hairs, secured in rust-proof steel ferrules with a black and red handle.  It is recommended these brushes are used for glazing and varnishing because of their high elasticity. They come in several sizes: 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 & 80mm. Cleaning your brushes: 1. Water-soluble colours should be washed out with water. 2. Acrylic colour, as long as it is wet, should be washed out with water. When dried up it can only be dissolved with special cleaning agents. 3. Oil colours should be wiped off thoroughly with a piece of cloth, where appropriate clean with a special cleanser. 4. Hairs, bristles and synthetic fibres should be cleaned with a special soap (our order no. 4033 and 4433), that cleans and maintains the brush head on the basis of vegetable oils, and warm water until the soap begins to produce white lather. Do not use strongly fat removing soaps! Especially natural hair tends to break if they are missing their protecting fat contents. By that you elevate the life as well as the suppleness of your brushes. 6. Afterwards wipe the brush with a fine piece of cloth and bring it to its original shape. Artists call this procedure "dressing". 7. Let the brush dry completely before you use it again. Don't put it on the radiator to dry. There the hair will dry too quickly, the handle will shrink, and the brush head will come loose.
