A colourful denim paletteFind your favourite and get out your sewing machine - let's design personalised denim styles! Everyone loves denim. And denim in shades of blue is classic and stylish. But denim in other great colours can also do something. This fabric even has a bit of stretch for extra freedom of movement. Denim is perfect for dresses, spencers, skirts, shirts, jackets, trousers, pantsuits, and all kinds of bags. Just find a pattern and get started! Personality in denim!Do you want your design to be truly personalised and unique? Try your hand at a scrap piece of fabric - you could create a slightly worn look with fine sandpaper, or scratch the surface to create holes. Or how about decorating with sewing marks, embroidered details or slightly different buttons? That's why we love denim!Denim is a great fabric. So there you have it. Jeans and denim have been a staple in many wardrobes for years, and for good reason! It's a classic that everyone can wear and you can use it for all kinds of creative endeavours.Denim is made from cotton yarn woven in a tight twill weave, making it a highly durable and long-lasting fabric. It also has a distinctive texture that develops a beautiful patina over time - both with use and washing. Additional detailsThis denim is made from 97% cotton and 3% elastane - a heavyweight quality of 10.5 oz (1 oz (ounce) equals approximately 28 grams. A higher number means a heavier/higher density fabric). The fabric measures 125-145 cm in width, and of course you can choose the length yourself, but remember to factor in that it shrinks 5% when washed. NB: Always wash denim before use to avoid staining.  Remember to use a stretch or jeans needle and a strong denim thread.

Colourful Bias Tapes  Okay – saying everyone might be an exaggeration, but here you really get a whole rainbow of colours to choose from for your DIY project.     Bias tapes are the finishing touch. And the colour – you decide that. Find one that almost matches your project, choose one that provides a subtle shade difference, or go all in on contrast and select one (or several!) that stands out and catches the eye. It's your design – of course, you decide.     The bias tape is 18 mm wide and made of 100% cotton. You get 25 metres of bias tape in one pack.    Use Bias Tapes for ...   Sew bias tapes on blankets and bath towels. Use it on dresses, shirts, and blouses – and for baby clothes and bodysuits. Let the bias tapes serve as beautiful details and elegant finishes on edges and cutouts.     Worth Knowing About Bias Tapes  Bias tapes have the (almost) magical ability to adapt to many fabrics. As the name suggests, they're cut on the bias and therefore naturally follow your curves, necklines, corners, and edges. This provides a beautiful finish.     How to Sew Bias Tape  Bias tapes are for sewing on curves, corners, and straight stretches. When you sew the bias tape onto your project, you sew with straight stitches at about a 2.5 cm stitch length. While sewing, don't pull or stretch it. Let it align perfectly along the edge, ensuring a neat result.     TIP  When you start sewing your bias tape, fold about 2 cm in, so it's double-layered. When finishing, tuck the other end's fold over your folded start. The same principle applies when extending a bias tape.

BCI Organic stretch jersey, cotton, with green tiedye print

BCI Organic stretch jersey, cotton, with green tiedye print

Pattern your design We love jersey! It's soft, breathable, and comfortable – and the wonderful stretch gives you full flexibility for everyday tasks, big and small.  Cotton jersey with patterns is delightful. It makes the more traditional DIY designs – e.g., the classic short- or long-sleeved t-shirt – even more personal.  Let the pattern play a central role and discover how you create a unique wardrobe with several new favourites.   What will you sew? Jersey suits most things. For leggings and trousers, tops and t-shirts, or dresses and skirts. It's also a lovely material for a soft bodysuit for the little ones.  Explore our many different sewing patterns, or create your very own design.  Some practicalities This fabric consists of 92% organic cotton and 8% elastane; choose the length you need for your DIY project!  When working with jersey, we recommend using a jersey needle, which is characterised by having a medium point – also called ball point. The needle easily penetrates the knitted quality and prevents stitches and threads from running. For this type of jersey, we recommend jersey needles in size 70/80. Partially organic  Products with this label have an organic content of at least 25%. It could be, for example, fabrics with organic cotton mixed with other fibres. We've created this label so you can easily identify the proportion of organic content. BCI - Better Cotton Initiative Our cotton jersey is not only comfortable and of high quality; it's also BCI-certified. This means that the cotton in this product comes from farmers who follow the principles and criteria of the Better Cotton Initiative. By choosing BCI-certified products, you support a responsible approach to cotton production that considers both people and the environment.
