Light, colourful and a beautiful drape! Viscose is a popular fabric for many fashion designs. It's a light and soft material with good breathability, while also being comfortable to wear. The beautiful drape is especially pronounced in tops, dresses, and shirts, where even with the simplest designs, you achieve a stylish look. The design is up to you: Does the shirt need a small collar? The top a boat neck? Or are you into ruched details? That being said, viscose is also well-suited for light trousers. We prefer them with a bit of width in the legs, so you once again benefit from the lovely drape. Choose from many stunning colours. What is viscose? Viscose has been used for clothing for over 100 years. The fabric consists of processed and regenerated cellulose, for example from wood pulp or cotton waste. It resembles natural fibres like cotton and silk. Some practicalities The fabric is 100% viscose, is 130 cm wide, and you can of course choose the length you need. Wash at 40°C, iron at medium heat, and allow to air dry. Expect 5% shrinkage after washing. Remember to use the right needles – we recommend using a universal needle or a microtex needle in size 70.

Worth knowing about bias tape Bias tape has the (almost) magical ability to adapt to many fabrics. As the name suggests, it's cut on the bias, so it naturally follows your curves, necklines, corners, and edges. This results in a beautiful finish. How to sew on bias tape Bias tape is for sewing onto curves, corners, and straight stretches. When you sew the bias tape onto your project, you use straight stitches with a stitch length of about 2.5 cm. As you sew, you must not pull or stretch it. Let it align naturally along the edge to get a neat result. TIP When you start sewing your bias tape on, fold in about 2 cm, so it's double-layered. When you finish, tuck the other end's fold over your folded start. The same principle applies when extending the bias tape.
