Ziton ZR4ST-3 ZR4 Series 868 MHz Site Survey Tool for Wireless Installations Ziton ZR4ST-3 ZR4 Series 868 MHz Site Survey Tool for Wireless InstallationsThe ZR4ST-3 is a portable radio survey kit to assist in the validation of an 868 MHz wireless fire alarm system prior to installation. A site survey is always required prior to installation for all wireless devices to ensure full system operability after installation.Operating PrincipleFire systems are often required in buildings where cable wiring presents a challenge because the fabric of the building or where the interior design would be negatively affected by the use of cables. It could also be difficult to introduce cable runs into old buildings that were not designed with a modern cable infrastructure. It is in these architecturally sensitive buildings that wireless fire detection is ideal. The ZR4ST-3 survey tool helps establish the viability of a wireless installation in such buildings by allowing a pre-installation survey to be conducted within the standard operating parameters of the system. The ZR4ST-3 confirms the signal strength at every desired location and helps with the overall system design by providing clear go no-go location information. The RangeA typical 868 MHz fire system may consist ofWired or wireless interface modulesWireless fire detectorsWireless notification devicesWireless detectornotification device combinationsWireless manual call pointsWireless inputoutput modulesAll of these require validation for signal strength prior to installation.
