Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition clearly differs in terms of mechanics from previous instalments of the series, which were also rejuvenated by Forgotten Empires studio. The main aspects of the game have received numerous changes and improvements, and the whole game has been enriched with completely new solutions. During the struggle, we have to once again manage the settlement given to us, which entails the need to obtain raw materials, erect new buildings or, finally, discover darkened parts of the maps and lead our nation through successive eras. However, the so-called home cities appeared in the game, over which we have no control - we can stock up on various goods there.
The fight against enemy forces also plays an important role - we send to the fight both infantry, horse formations and siege machines, ending with powerful artillery. It is worth noting that individual factions have been differentiated in terms of the appearance of buildings and individual advantages and disadvantages - they can also boast unique units, as well as qualities that allow, for example, easier alliances with other parties to the conflict.
Engaging single-player campaign
Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition includes an immersive single-player campaign divided into three separate acts picturing the times of North and South America colonization. Each act tells the story of a fictional Black family history narrated by Amelia Black. It is worth mentioning that Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition includes two expansion packs - The WarChiefs, focused on American Indian tribes, and The Asian Dynasties, introducing players to the culture of the Far East. Expansion packs include new fractions, buildings, and units.

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is fully adjusted for today's powerful machines. The game supports high definition resolutions, including Ultra HD 4k and the graphics have been significantly improved in general. Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition includes fully supported multiplayer mode - now it is possible to have more than two teams in a multiplayer match.
Additionally, the developer prepared three different user interface layouts, to make it suitable for a wider range of players. Besides visual improvements, the game has been enriched with the new Art of War challenges, two new civilizations, and some changes to Native American tribes. What is worth mentioning.
