Valiant Hearts: The Great War is an action adventure game set during the First World War with a cartoon, two-dimensional graphic design. Ubisoft Montpellier studio is responsible for the creation of the title, which has, among others, very successful two-dimensional arcade games Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.  The plot tells the story of four people whose fates intertwine in the trenches of the Western Front. Here we have a French farmer forced to serve in the military, an American volunteer seeking private revenge, a Belgian paramedic trying to find his missing father, and a German infantryman who was separated from his family. The factor that connects all these characters is a kind dog, which has the interesting ability to direct events in people's lives on the right track and a desire to return to normal life as soon as possible. The story takes place over the years 1914-1918, and the individual stages take place in different chronological periods. Interestingly, the plot is heavily based on authentic letters from soldiers from World War I.  The nature of the game depends to a large extent on the character you control at the moment. The game therefore offers both dexterity and those in which we have to strain gray cells. In addition to the sequences that require fast and efficient movement, there are also more or less complex puzzles to solve, and even scenes straight from stealth, when we pass unnoticed by our opponents, distracting them with thrown stones. Exploration elements have also been implemented, moreover, we can often count on the company of the aforementioned four-legged friend to help us.  When creating this title, the UbiArt Framework engine was used (known for example from the aforementioned Rayman games), so we are dealing here with a very aesthetic and atmospheric visual setting, reminiscent of a comic book. Despite the fact that the story told in Valiant Hearts is extremely sad, the developer made sure that the production could also bring a smile to our faces. Valiant Hearts: The Great War is an action adventure game set during the First World War with a cartoon, two-dimensional graphic design. Ubisoft Montpellier studio is responsible for the creation of the title, which has, among others, very successful two-dimensional arcade games Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends.  The plot tells the story of four people whose fates intertwine in the trenches of the Western Front. Here we have a French farmer forced to serve in the military, an American volunteer seeking private revenge, a Belgian paramedic trying to find his missing father, and a German infantryman who was separated from his family. The factor that connects all these characters is a kind dog, which has the interesting ability to direct events in people's lives on the right track and a desire to return to normal life as soon as possible. The story takes place over the years 1914-1918, and the individual stages take place in different chronological periods. Interestingly, the plot is heavily based on authentic letters from soldiers from World War I.  The nature of the game depends to a large extent on the character you control at the moment. The game therefore offers both dexterity and those in which we have to strain gray cells. In addition to the sequences that require fast and efficient movement, there are also more or less complex puzzles to solve, and even scenes straight from stealth, when we pass unnoticed by our opponents, distracting them with thrown stones. Exploration elements have also been implemented, moreover, we can often count on the company of the aforementioned four-legged friend to help us.  When creating this title, the UbiArt Framework engine was used (known for example from the aforementioned Rayman games), so we are dealing here with a very aesthetic and atmospheric visual setting, reminiscent of a comic book. Despite the fact that the story told in Valiant Hearts is extremely sad, the developer made sure that the production could also bring a smile to our faces. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and released on March 27, 2018, Far Cry® 5 is the fifth instalment of the bestselling first-person shooter (fps) video game series. The game, like the previous parts, impresses with great graphics and an extraordinary soundtrack, in which we have both popular songs known from radio stations and original compositions.  The gameplay itself is quite simple. The player is introduced to a brand new area called Hope County, which offers great views characteristic for the American state. He has a certain mission to complete and it only depends on him how he will cope with it. He has a mission to complete and it's up to him how he tackles it, with new, deadly weapons and vehicles to help him traverse the wild woods, lakes and grasslands. An interesting novelty in the game, which is worth mentioning, is the lack of towers and mini-map. From now on, in order to find the way, the player has to use his skills, which only shows that the creators put more and more emphasis on realism.  Gameplay and Game Mode As in previous parts of the series, the action in Far Cry 5 is presented from a first-person perspective. At the very beginning the player creates a character. He can choose both his appearance and gender. Then, thanks to the experience gained in the game, he can develop special, very useful skills of his character, which will help him in open combat with opponents, as well as those focused on the quiet elimination of opponents. Another interesting feature of Far Cry 5 is the fact that the game can be completed not only alone, but also in the company of another player. The co-op mode introduced by the developers covers the entire campaign and all side activities. Storyline The action of Far Cry 5 takes place in a fictional Hope County located in the American state of Montana. The player takes on the role of a policeman or policewoman whose task is to uncover and destroy a fanatical religious cult. The cult is led by Joseph Seed, who ruthlessly deals with those he considers enemies. Before dealing with him, however, the player must liberate the three main regions of Hope County, ruled by two brothers and the half-sister of the main antagonist. Of course, it should be added that the protagonist does not act alone and can always count on the help of characters encountered during the game, such as sniper Grace Armstrong, pilot Nick Rye, helicopter pilot Adelaide Drubman, or Hurk Drubman Jr. known from the previous parts. Reception Far Cry 5 on PC received positive reviews. First of all, players liked the open world that the game offers and the presence of many enemies and allies. For the vast majority, the main advantage was the great freedom in attacking enemies and powerful explosions against the background of majestic nature. Players also rated with approval many other elements of the game, such as the large map, engaging missions, fantastic music, the ability to search abandoned houses in forests and factories, and the presence of a charismatic, intelligent anti-hero. Additionally, according to reviewers, the references to American culture and stereotypes, as well as the system of acquiring quests from NPCs, which has been improved compared to the previous parts of the series, also deserve recognition.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the eleventh main installment of the best-selling sandbox series launched in 2007. Unlike the previous parts of the series, which were action games, this production made a strong turn towards the RPG genre, resembling the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game. Traveling through ancient Greece, the player, among others makes moral choices in missions, plays a character in interactive dialogues and advances to the next levels of experience. The title was created by an in-house Ubisoft studio located in Quebec, which used the help of many other branches of this French publisher.  The action of Assassin's Creed Odyssey begins in 431 BC, on the verge of the conflict between Sparta and Athens, in history textbooks recorded as the Peloponnesian War. Before starting the game, we choose one of the two characters - Alexios or Kassandra, who are grandchildren of the famous Spartan king Leonidas. However, in their youth they were cursed by their homeland and banished; we get to know them when they earn their living as mercenaries as adults. The beginning of the story - the title odyssey - is the moment when the protagonist (ka) undertakes a dangerous task that will unexpectedly open the way for him / her to regain his family.  Unlike previous Assassin's Creed games, the story of Odyssey is somewhat non-linear. In the course of the struggle, we make choices influencing the course and ending of the scenario - although we cannot change the fate of the world, the choices we make translate into the fate of Alexios / Kassandra's relatives. The story is conveyed through interactive cutscenes, in which the developers for the first time in the history of the series gave players the option of choosing dialogue lines (role-playing). It is worth mentioning that historical figures appear in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. They are mainly the philosopher Socrates, the historian Herodotus who documents our actions, Hippocrates (known as the father of modern medicine) and the leader of Athenian democracy, Pericles. Nevertheless, the axis of the plot is still a fictional conflict between the Assassins (represented here by the lineage of the main character) and the world-manipulating Templars (in ancient Greece organized into the cult of Kosmos), in which artifacts of the extinct First Civilization still play a significant role.  In Assassin's Creed Odyssey we observe the action from the third person perspective (TPP). The game puts at our disposal a vast open world, covering almost the entire area of ancient Greece. It is made up of many regions, differing in terms of landscape, population density and level of difficulty. In addition to Attica, the center of which is Athens, and Laconia, where Sparta is located, there are, among others, Macedonia, Delphi (seat of the famous oracle), Olympia inviting to sports competition, and the island of Crete, where the ruins of Knossos are located. In this "sandbox" we can travel both on the horse's back and on foot - which is made more attractive by the parkour system, which is the showcase of the series, thanks to which you can efficiently and effectively overcome obstacles. In addition, seafaring returns in the game, slightly resembling AC Odyssey to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag released in 2013. The ship at our disposal, the Adrestia, can be modified by changing its appearance and equipment. During the game, we can also recruit a crew (e.g. from stunned enemies), and each of its members has unique abilities that affect our abilities during battles with enemy units. Interestingly, sailing is made more attractive by shanties sung in Greek by our subordinates. On land, however, we deal with adversities by choosing a stealth approach or engaging in open clashes (depending on preferences). If we choose a silent solution, we can take advantage of the benefits provided by Leonidas' spearhead - an ancient artifact that replaces the hidden blade known from the previous installments of the cycle. This weapon also grants Alexios and Kassandra special abilities such as powerful attacks and a flash of blinding nearby enemies. They are useful during close quarters duels, during which we make use of various types of melee weapons; we can also shoot a bow. In addition, there are large-scale battles in the game, involving up to three hundred units, and when we break the law, headhunters follow our trail, and we kill them to climb the mercenary hierarchy. In return for the elimination of opponents, completing tasks (main and side) or exploring the world, we receive experience points, and after collecting the appropriate number of them - we advance to the next levels. Engaging in side activities is necessary to push the plot forward and open yourself a safe entrance to more and more "advanced" regions of the world.
