Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince Europe Steam CD Key
Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is the fourth installment of the popular series of logic-platform games, launched in 2009. The title was developed by the authors of previous productions under this banner, i.e. the independent studio Frozenbyte.
Return of the 2.5D gameplay
In Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, the action is shown from the side. Castle ruins, haunted tombs, dense forests and other fairy-tale locations that we travel through while playing are full of numerous traps and terrain obstacles. In addition, from time to time we encounter opponents to eliminate (including oversized bosses), and we also solve environmental puzzles based on the use of specific elements. To meet all these challenges, we have to make use of the individual skills of each of the heroes, which we can freely switch between during the game alone.
Pontius is great at close quarters combat (the system of clashes with opponents has been significantly improved compared to the previous installments of the cycle), Zoya attacks enemies with a bow and uses a rope with a hook, thanks to which he can get into hard-to-reach places, while Amadeus can materialize and move selected objects using telekinesis. As they progress, the protagonists gain new abilities, which allows them to deal with increasingly sophisticated problems.
Prince Selius’ nightmarish story
Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince's story revolves around the eponymous prince. Young Selius was plagued by nightmares, and his magical power made the monsters appearing in them penetrate into the real world, where they wreak real havoc. To make matters worse, the prince disappeared without a trace under mysterious circumstances. The task of dealing with this problem rests on the shoulders of three well-known heroes, i.e. the mage Amadeus, the thief Zoya and the knight Pontius.
Reception
Trine 4 received favorable opinions of the critics. In their reviews, they mentioned the audiovisual side of the game as one of its best components. They noted how the veterans of the series would feel right at home, with very little changes introduced to the core gameplay mechanics. All in all, the reviewers recommended The Nightmare Prince as a very good side-scrolling action-adventure game and the best title in the Trine series.
