Ardennes Assault is the second major addition to the RTS Company of Heroes 2. Unlike the previous expansion, West Front Armies, Ardennes Assault focuses on the single player mode, offering an extensive campaign, the theme of which is the title offensive in the Ardennes on the Second World War the Western Front (turn of 1944 and 1945). As before, we are dealing here with a standalone expansion (which does not require a "stand" to operate), produced by Relic Entertainment studio. The expansion allows you to direct US troops struggling with the Nazi forces of the Oberkommando West. The offensive in Ardennes was divided into 18 missions, which is more than the campaign from the basic Company of Heroes 2. Individual scenarios form a coherent story, dynamically shaped by the choices we make in each stage. We have at our disposal three, unavailable in the "base", American companies with unique officers and requiring an individual approach to the game. During the struggle, we have limited resources when it comes to people and equipment, so a strictly tactical approach to play and careful planning of their activities is crucial - the more that units gain experience and develop from mission to mission. Key featuresNon-liner campaign - Take control of a strategic meta-map covering the key locations of the Battle of the Bulge. Veterancy earned can help increase an entire Company’s effectiveness, while lost units are a hit to the Company’s overall health. Fail to manage resources well and you risk losing a Company for good.
