The front panel status indicators show Power Overload and Output Level 10 and 100 output level. The audio input is presented on two separate RJ45 connectors. The output is presented on two 3-way plugcage clamp termination connectors providing 50V or 100V output. The 24V DC input is presented on a two 2-way crimp connected socket.The power output stage of the amplifier is protected against overload conditions i.e. short circuits or abnormal loads. Should an amplifier be subjected to an abnormal load the input to the relevant power amplifier is attenuated to a safe level and the Overload LED will be illuminated. The amplifier output voltages are also sensed and should they exceed 100V the relevant input signal will be attenuated ensuring safe operation without creating unnecessary distortion.Over temperature protection is provided using sensors attached to the output stage heat sink. Baldwin Boxall DC Line Monitor BVRDADCThe Vigil BVRDADC is a loudspeaker line monitor and amplifier changeover unit for use with VIGIL amplifiers and the BVRD2M router. Each unit is supplied as a DIN rail-mounting module with screw terminals for connections to the amplifiers and loudspeaker lines. Connection to the BVRD2M is by CAN BUS ports. Each unit consists of ten channels that can be utilised for either dual or single circuit systems.For dual circuits ten working amplifiers five dual circuits and one standby amplifier can be accommodated. For single circuit systems ten working amplifiers ten single circuits and one standby amplifier are available. If an amplifier were to fail the BVRDADC automatically detects the faulty amplifier and switches over to a reserve amplifier until the fault has been rectified. A fault will be displayed on the BVRD2M front panel and also stored in the BVRD2M fault log.When the faulty amplifier has been replaced it is necessary to press the Fault Reset button on the front of the BVRD2M to restore the system and stop using the reserve amplifier. Each loudspeaker line including spurs must have an End of Line resistor fitted in parallel with the last physical loudspeaker on the line. All loudspeakers must be fitted with a DC Blocking capacitor. The BVRDADC monitors the integrity of the Loudspeaker Line by measuring a small DC current flowing through the End of Line resistors. Any change in this current indicates either a short circuit or open circuit condition on the loudspeaker line. Earth faults are also detected.

Baldwin Boxall Impedance Monitor BVLAMThe BVLAM provides 8 zone 100V line relay switching loudspeaker zone selection from 1 amplifier.It incorporates impedance monitoring on all 8 loudspeaker lines when the zone is not selected. If the load increases impedance decreases the appropriate fault LED illuminates steady and if the load decreases impedance increases the fault LED will flash.The impedance changes for a fault to be detected is selected to either 20 or 40 using the mode DIL switch 8. If the impedance falls to approximately 50 of its original value the line is considered to be short circuit and will not be selected to the amplifier.All 8 zone select inputs will access when it is between 2 to 6.5V. An open circuit access input above 15V will be indicated by the appropriate fault LED flashing and a short circuit access input below 2V by the fault LED illuminating steady.Under all fault conditions the OK LED will extinguish and the common fault relay volt-free contacts to change state.Key FeaturesRack-mountable unit 1U high.
