Apollo Series 65 BR Heat Detector - 55000-127APO

Apollo Series 65 BR Heat Detector - 55000-127APO

Apollo Series 65 BR Heat Detector - 55000-127APOThe Series 65 Heat Detector monitors temperature by using a dual thermistor network which provides a voltage output proportional to the external air temperature. There are 12 heat detectors in the Series 65 range designed to suit a wide variety of operating conditions. Apollo Series 65 smoke heat detector range are a direct replacement for the earlier Series 60 devices. Series 65 detectors have a wide voltage range 9-33 volt DC and can be integrated on to security systems when used with the 12 volt relay base 45681-508.The heat detector operates by using a matched pair of thermistors to sense heat. One thermistor is exposed to the ambient temperature the other is sealed. In normal conditions the two thermistors register similar temperatures but on the development of a fire the temperature recorded by the exposed thermistor will increase rapidly resulting in an imbalance of the thermistors and causing the detector to change to the alarm state.A1R BR and CR are Rate of Rise detectors designed to detect a fire as the temperature increases but they also have a fixed upper limit at which the detector will go into alarm if the rate of temperature increase has been too slow to trigger the detector earlier.Key Features Can be used for applications where smoke detectors are unsuitableIdeal for environments that are dirty or smoky under natural conditionsWide operating voltageFlashing LED and magnet operated test switch option

Apollo Series 65 Relay Base 12v 45681-508APO

Apollo Series 65 Relay Base 12v 45681-508The Series 65 12V Relay Base is designed for use in both fire and security systems. For fire systems a jumper on the PCB is fitted to a latching position. For security systems the jumper is moved to another position so that the base is non-latching.OperationSeries 65 Relay Bases are primarily intended for use with control units using 4-wire detector supply and alarm initiating circuits. Where local codes allow they may also be used in 2 and 4-wire circuits to provide volt-free control signals to an auxiliary system such as an automatic door closer. They are not suitable for use in systems where it is specified or required that operation of the auxiliary system shall be fail-safe and must not be used with any other type of detector.Mechanical ConstructionThe base is a white self-extinguishing polycarbonate moulding with zero-force nickel-plated steel terminals for attaching the detector. The moulding has an aperture to accept the locking grub screw built into the detector case. All electronic components including the relay are mounted on a PCB which is retained by two screws in the moulding.Product InformationThe Series 65 12V Relay Base is designed for use in both fire and security systems. Apollo Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector with Flashing LED 55000-316APO

Apollo Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector with Flashing LED 55000-316APO

Apollo Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector with Flashing LED 55000-316APOThe Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector incorporates a pulsing LED located within the housing of the detector. The external detector moulding is identical to that of the ionisation detector and has an indicator LED which is clear in quiescent state but produces a red light in alarm.OperationThe Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector has a moulded self-extinguishing white polycarbonate case with wind resistant smoke inlets. Nickel-plated stainless-steel wiper contacts connect the detector to the base. Inside the case a printed circuit board has the optical system mounted on one side and the signal processing electronics on the other. The sensing chamber is a black moulding configured as a labyrinth which prevents penetration of ambient light. The labyrinth has a fine gauze insect-resistant cover. The chamber houses an infrared light emitting diode LED and a photo-diode which has an integral visible-light filter as extra protection against ambient light. Every three seconds the LED emits a burst of collimated light modulated at 4kHz. In clear air light from the LED does not fall directly on the diode because the LED is positioned at an obtuse angle to the diode. When smoke enters the chamber a fraction of the collimated light is scattered onto the photo-diode.If the resulting signal from the photo-diode is above a pre-set threshold the LED emits two more bursts of light this time at two-second intervals. If light is scattered onto the photo-diode by both these pulses due to the presence of smoke the detector signals an alarm state by switching the alarm latch on increasing the current drawn from the supply from about 40A to a maximum of 75mA. This fall in the impedance of the detector is recognised by the control panel as an alarm signal. The alarm current also illuminates the detector integral LED. A remote indicator connected between the L1 IN terminal and the R terminal will have a voltage equal to the supply voltage less 1 volt across it and so will illuminate. To ensure correct operation of the detector the control panel must be arranged to supply a maximum of 33 Volts dc and a minimum of 9 Volts dc in normal operation. The supply may fall to 6 Volts dc in alarm conditions if a supply current of at least 10mA is available at this voltage. To ensure effective illumination of the integral LED and any remote indicator the supply to the detector should exceed 12 Volts. To restore the detector to quiescent condition it is necessary to expel any smoke and interrupt the electrical supply to the detector for a minimum of one second.Key FeaturesResponds well to slow-burning smouldering firesWell-suited to bedrooms and escape routesUnaffected by wind or atmospheric pressureFlashing LED and magnet operated test switch option
