Airport CEO is an economic 2D strategy game available on the PC platform, in which we play the role of an airport director. The production is the debut of the Swedish development group Apoapsis Studios.The player's task at Airport CEO is to design and develop a thriving airport. We achieve this goal by dealing with many aspects of the entire facility: we plan the placement of infrastructure elements, we employ employees at various levels, and above all - we sign contracts with aviation companies and arrange connections in the flight plan.Before the masses of happy travelers please our eyes, however, we will have to plan and build everything, using a brigade of contracted workers. When arranging objects, we move at different levels of detail: we build large elements such as runways, control towers and hangars for auxiliary vehicles, remembering to connect them with appropriate paths. When planning the terminal, however, we can let our imagination run wild and take care of elegant arrangement of even single armchairs in the departure hall or washbasins in the bathrooms.After determining the shape of the rooms, we have to locate information points, check-in desks and even security gates guarding access to internal zones. As our airport develops, the necessary toilets and sofas are also joined by additional facilities, such as bars and shops, designed to make the waiting time more pleasant for passengers. However, some of these locations require time and money to unlock.Many installations require personnel that we must manually recruit. Security gates will not do much without the security guards working on them, and with an insufficient number of cleaners, our airport will quickly become overgrown with dirt. We can also hire specialists in financial matters or human resource management who will open up new development opportunities for us. When browsing the list of candidates for a given position, we can check their education, experience, hobbies, as well as statistics important for their functioning in the game (e.g. how well they cope with stress).Built and manned, the facility is ready to receive airplanes, both small light aircraft and powerful machines carrying crowds of passengers. Connections obtained thanks to contracts with airlines are arranged in a special menu. Occasionally, there may be a need to deal with unforeseen events, such as emergency landings, disrupting an established flight plan.All the events and decisions we make ultimately influence the travelers, each of whom is a unique person with distinctive characteristics that influence his behavior.
