Police Stories is a tactical shooter with a bird's eye view. This is the debut production of the independent studio Mighty Morgan.The game tells the story of two policemen - John Rimes and Rick Jones, who specialize in high-risk actions, such as storming gang headquarters or rescuing hostages.The action takes place in the United States in the 1990s. Rather than trying to realistically represent the work of law enforcement officers, the authors followed the example of movies and series from that decade that portrayed the lives of American cops as gloomy, brutal and often forcing police officers to bend procedures in the name of justice.Police Stories is a shooter in which the camera is placed over the protagonist's head. The gameplay is quite realistic. Two or three hits are enough to kill the policemen, which means that when playing, we are forced to show caution and, if necessary, the ability to make immediate decisions.As the heroes are law enforcement officers, the priority is to make arrests, and killing someone is only allowed as a last resort. The dynamic AI of the opponents works together with this, providing various reactions from criminals. Some people, when they see a weapon pointed at them, will immediately allow themselves to be chained, others will require stronger persuasion, e.g. by firing a warning shot, and still others will decide to fight to the very end.The player controls only one policeman, and the other is controlled by artificial intelligence, the behavior of which can be modified by issuing an appropriate order. The line of sight system maintains tension. It causes that until we open the door to the room, we will not be able to see who is inside. In addition, the location of enemies and civilians is determined randomly, so we can complete the same missions multiple times, each time receiving fresh challenges.
