Establish settlements
One of the main gameplay features in Fallout 4 is the ability to start new settlements from scratch. Create farms, supply routes and extensive electrical systems that control automated turrets to protect against bandits and wild animals. Watch as your settlement grows in population and merchants.
Meaningful Progression
Fallout 4 ditches the skill point-based progression system from previous Fallouts and introduces a Perk-based system. As you level up, you earn Perk points, which you can spend in a convenient and graphical menu on traits that will instantly and measurably improve your skills. Your in-game avatar becomes powerful faster than ever. With no maximum character level, you will eventually become a master of all disciplines if you so desire.
A game-changing crafting system
Use earned materials to create modifications to weapons and armor. Modifications not only change, often drastically, the way your equipment works, but also significantly alter its appearance. So change your laser rifle to a scatter gun, add blades to a baseball bat or coat your armour in asbestos and see how it changes your experience. The number of possible upgrades and add-ons is enough to get anyone involved in tinkering.
A diverse, colorful game world
Boston's surroundings abound with interesting locations to visit. From developed settlements and urban areas to dying forests and the famous Shining Sea, the locations in Fallout 4 provide a fascinating reward for adventurous explorers. The Commonwealth area also has the most color of any Fallout game to date. From the opulent interiors of wealthy wilderness dwellers to casual attire and evening gowns, the Boston area is closer to civilization than any other Fallout area before.
13 unique companions
The companions that will join you on your journey through Fallout 4 are as quirky and unique as the irradiated lands themselves. From a pre-war robotic butler with an arm shaped like a saw, to a ghoul in pirate disguise, to a synthetic detective with all the attributes of a profession.
