Quantum Break is a spectacular action game set in the reality of science fiction in the TPP convention, inspired by modern scientific theories regarding the possibility of time travel. Developers from the Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment are responsible for its creation, with such famous titles as Alan Wake, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, and above all the first two installments of the cult Max Payne shooter. The described game is an exclusive production for Microsoft hardware platforms, i.e. the Xbox One consoles and popular PCs with Windows. It is worth noting, however, that the PC version was made available only through the Windows Store and requires the Windows 10 operating system to work. A story like in the best Hollywood movie At the fictional U.S. college Riverpoint University conducts research into the possibilities of time travel. During one of the experiments, however, an accident occurs, as a result of which a whole bunch of inexplicable anomalies appear, and the world around us begins to slowly and gradually disintegrate. As a result of the incident, two people, Jack Joyce and Paul Serene, are endowed with supernatural abilities to manipulate space-time. The heroes are divided into two camps - Jack and his brother, who is jointly responsible for building the time machine, are trying to correct the mistakes they have made and save the world, and Paul, convinced of the inevitability of the catastrophe, prepares a plan to save only a small group of the chosen ones. The plot of Quantum Break was constructed in a way reminiscent of modern TV series, and the events presented consist of the actual gameplay and film scenes prepared with the participation of actors. However, while in the game we direct the actions of the positive hero, i.e. Jack, the film focuses entirely on the main antagonist of the game, Paul Serene, and the Monarch corporation he runs. Thanks to this way of narrating, we can get to know many aspects of the same story while playing, shown from two different points of view. At the end of each act of the game, players must make a decision, the consequences of which will be reflected throughout the story. Utilize your new found powers to survive Quantum Break is, above all, a dynamic, third-person action game in which, in addition to shooting, traversing the next levels and using your abilities not only to fight, but also to "repair the world", is an equally important element. This aspect of the game is significantly diversified by the fact that due to the damage to space-time, our environment is constantly changing, and a whole lot of anomalies appear around us, thanks to which objects, structures or buildings disappear or fall apart before our eyes. This, in turn, means that while playing, we do not only follow a predetermined path, being often forced to look for alternative solutions and paths leading to the goal.
