Minke Irish Gin (Mini) 5cl

Minke Irish Gin (Mini) 5cl

Minke Irish Gin The founders of the Clonakilty distillery (located on the southwest coast of Ireland), the Scully family, have farmed their windswept coastal area of 9 successive generations. Through their love of the land, and knowledge of the area they found the best resouces for a maritime distillery. The distillery itself is located right at the waterfront, in the heart of Clonakilty town. Not only do they distill here, but also offer the public the option to see how their fantastic drinks are made. Produced at their distillery, Minke Irish gin is inspired by the maritime environment. From the Minke Whales seen swimming off the coast (giving their gin its name), to the Rock Samphire, a key botanical in their gin. This is sustainably harvested by hand from the Atlantic Ocean coastline and gives the gin a distinctly martitime flavour. Centuries of sea mist, soft rain and ocean spray provide a complexity to the soil that permeates through to the grass which feeds the cows that help produce whey. It is this whey that is used to create the base alcohol spirit used in making their Minke gin. It also gives a unique velvety texture and mouthfeel to it. This truly is a full circle gin, going 'from grass to glass'. Good to know: The Clonakilty Distillery support Whale and Dolphin Conservation in their worldwide quest to protect these majestic creatures. On the nose this is crisp and dry, reminiscent of a sea breeze. The flavour is also fresh and zesty. As the drink develops on the palate the Rock Samphire comes through with green, fennel-like flavours. It finishes with a slight saltiness, and warmth from red peppercorns. More from the Clonakilty Distillery Perfect Serve This makes a deliciously refreshing Gin & Tonic. Take a large glass and add a few large ice cubes. Pour in 60ml of Minke Gin and 120ml of your favourite tonic. We like Three Cents Tonic Water, or if you're feeling like adding more maritime notes - try with Three Cents Aegean Tonic Water. Garnish with two slices of lemon or lime and a fresh mint leaf.

G'Vine Floraison Gin (Mini) 5cl

G'Vine Floraison Gin (Mini) 5cl

G'Vine Floraison Gin Setting itself apart from the crowd, G'Vine use a base of alcohol which is distilled from Ugni Blanc grapes. Using this grape "brandy" they then create something really quite special, a definite modern take on gin. After all, what else would the French use than a grape base! But the influence of the grape vine doesn't stop there. They also quite uniquely use the flowers too. These are harvested before the vine can fruit. These are macerated (mixed) and distilled seperately, along with the other 9 botanicals in the gin. After this process is complete, they are blended in just the right quantities before being distilled together once more. The 10 botanics used in the gins creation are juniper, grape flowers, cardamom, cassia, coriander, cubeb pepper, ginger, licorice, lime and nutmeg. The overall result is very refreshing, and quite surprising. On the nose, it opens with a welcome from the lime, and a floral undertone. The juniper comes through gently too, just to remind this is indeed a gin! In the mouth this gin takes you on a complex, and enjoyable journey. It begins with a floral introduction, before the juniper (mildly) comes through along with a gently warmth from ginger and lime. This continues with a touch of pepper, and anise making themselves known - whilst the piney juniper continues.  As the gin finishes, there is a a delicate sweetness which comes onto the tongue. Anise continues through, right to the end, but you are also greeted by the cardamom, a hint of vanilla and then the liquorice roots comes through. Certainly something different - but one we think the citrus and floral gin lovers out there will certainly enjoy! Read more about G'Vine Perfect Serve To fully enjoy the delicate and refreshing flavours in this gin, try in a gin and tonic with a neutral and less sweet tonic, such as East Imperial Old World Tonic Water. If you are looking to enhance the floral notes, try with Royal Botanic Tonic Water instead. With either of these, fill a large glass with ice and pour in 50ml of the gin. Add 150ml of the tonic and stir gently. Garnish simply with a slice of lime.

Licor 43 Original (Mini) 5cl

Licor 43 Original (Mini) 5cl

Licor 43 Original This Spanish liquer was first produced by the Zamora family in Spain, Licor 43 has a a history which goes back to 1946. In fact, it was inspired by a golden and aromatic elixir called Liqvor Mirabilis which was banned by the Romans! With the arrival of tourism in the 60's the world discovered Licor 43, and it truly became a taste of Spain to many. Now in the 21st century, Licor 43 is available in well over fifty countries, and is the most international Spanish liqueur.  Licor 43 liqueur is exceptionally smooth, and has a instantly recognisable golden colour. The name hints at the recipe, with there being 43 all natural ingredients involved in its creation.  The bright golden hue of the drink really does reflect its Mediterranean heritage, evoking feelings of sun drenched golden beaches.  Whilst Licor 43 is a secret blend, it has a complex flavour profile. It is sweet, with a strong blend of citrus. There is a mild spiciness, with a touch of coriander, and floral notes from soft orange and lemon blossoms. There are botanical notes, and a hint of fruity warmth from ripe fruit. Once blended, the liqueur is rested between 6 and 9 months, so as to develop the flavours.  Read more about Licor 43 Perfect Serve Licor 43 is extremely smooth, so very easily drunk on its own or over ice. But for those of you a little more adventurous, or who want to try something new - we have three cocktail options. For a Ginger hit, try a Ginger 43.
