Sipsmith Sloe Gin Elke herfst worden de sleedoornbessen (een haagvrucht in de pruimenfamilie) geplukt en laten rusten met Sipsmith's bekroonde London Dry Gin. De oogsten variëren elk jaar door het steeds veranderende en onvoorspelbare Britse weer. Op de neus krijg je meteen een vol aroma van rode aalbessen en rijpe wintervruchten, dit heeft ook een amandel randje. Kokoro Gin Cherry Blossom Liqueur "British Gin, Japanese Heart" is hoe de makers van Kokoro gin het omschrijven, en het is Kokoro gin die de basis vormt voor deze gin likeur. Kokoro gin wordt gedistilleerd in de Thames-distilleerderij in Londen en is gemaakt in een London Dry-stijl. Het maakt gebruik van een mix van klassieke gin-botanica, amandel, engelwortel, koriander, jeneverbes, citroen, zoethout, sinaasappel en hartig. De laatste botanische, Sansho Berry, geeft deze gin echter zijn echte Japanse hart. Om hun Cherry Blossom-likeur te maken (Kersenbloesems zijn tenslotte synoniem met Japan), neemt Kokoro hun klassieke gin-basis en doordrenkt met de Japanse smaak van sakura-kersenbloesems. Soplica Śliwkowa Soplica, een van de oudere merken van Poolse wodka en dranken op basis van wodka, is gemaakt door Bolesław Michał Kasprowicz. In 1888 richtte hij Fabryka Wódek i Likierów w Gnieźnie (fabriek van wodka en likeur in Gniezno) op - en in 1891 werd de eerste fles Soplica Vodka geproduceerd. Filliers Dry Gin 28 Classic 50cl

Filliers Dry Gin 28 Classic Distilling in small batches, Filliers utilise traditional copper pot stills in the creation of their gin. The distillery itself was established in 1880. The recipe for their Classic gin utilises 28 different botanicals (hence the 28 in the name), and was created in 1928 by Firmin Filliers. Since then, the recipe has been passed down in the family, until, in 2012 it was delicately refined by the Filliers master distillers without compromising the character of the gin. The result is award winning, delicious on its own - and forms the base for their other gins. Whilst the full recipe is a closely guarded secret, some of the botanicals and fresh fruit distillates within the 28 total are known. These are Juniper, hops, angelica root, allspice, fresh oranges, cardamom, ginger, calm sauce, orange blossom, coriander seeds, lemongrass, lavender blossom, gentian root and fresh citrus fruits. The overall result is a deliciously spicy gin with a dry character with spicy notes of pine filled juniper. This is complemented by refreshing citrus aromas. The slightly higher alcohol content than unusual ensures this is a strong & aromatic spirit. We really enjoyed it with both Double Dutch Indian Tonic and their Double Lemon. Fill a long drink glass with ice, and pour in 50ml of gin. Ableforth's Summer Fruit Cup Since their founding in 2011, Ableforth's have been making drinks that the founders (three friends) would enjoy themselves. They took inspiration from the past, looking at drinks which had robust, fresh - yet unusual flavours. In fact, they just wanted to ensure a "range of really bloody tasty spirits'. For their Summer Fruit Cup they wanted to "bottle summer". By this they meant creating a delicious drink which captures not just the flavours, but the feeling that a warm sunny day brings. To do this they macerate fresh strawberries, cucumber, orange and mint before vacuum distilling to extract the maximum amount of flavour. This distillate is then blended with their award winning Bathtub Gin as well as a mix of sweet Italian Vermouths, and a triple sec liqueur. They then add a blend of herbs and spices to ensure the perfect balance. The result gives a deep and complex nose which is full of spice, fruit and even a hint of cocoa. As the aroma develops the signature botanicals (cucumber, strawberry and orange) all come through. The taste is deliciously intense, but not at all over-powering. All the botanicals are given their time to shine, but it's the strawberry and a hit of refreshing fresh mint which really please the mouth. It finishes long and especially smooth with the mint, orange, cucumber and strawberries all lingering on the palate. The Artisan Gin 50cl

The Artisan Gin Om deze premium London Dry gin te creëren, heeft The Artisan, waar mogelijk, 14 verschillende botanicals zorgvuldig geselecteerd uit Kroatië. Amandelen, vlierbloesem, olijfbladeren - en ook Iriswortel (de nationale bloem van Kroatië) zijn er slechts enkele van. Ze bereiden elke plant anders voor, om ervoor te zorgen dat de maximale smaak kan worden geëxtraheerd - voordat ze 72 uur kunnen macereren. Dit wordt vervolgens gefilterd voordat het door een vacuümdestillatieproces gaat. Dit proces verlaagt het kookpunt van alcohol en zorgt ervoor dat geen van de smaken wordt beïnvloed door distillatie bij hoge temperatuur. Dit betekent dat er meer finesse en delicate smaken in deze gin te vinden zijn. De uiteindelijke vloeistof wordt vervolgens vier weken met rust gelaten. Tot slot.... deze Kroatische gin wordt vervolgens gebotteld. Maar nogmaals, niet in zomaar een fles, maar in een speciaal daarvoor ontworpen fles. Het aroma van deze gin is een complexe, subtiele mix van frisse citrustonen, die in evenwicht worden gehouden door milde kruiden en bloemige tonen (met name lavendel). In de mond heeft dit een uitgesproken, droge smaak. De jeneverbes is niet verborgen, maar is perfect in balans met verfrissende pittige citrus en koriander. Naarmate de smaken zich in de mond ontwikkelen, komen de meer bloemige tonen naar voren, met name lavendel en vlierbloesem. De algehele ervaring is gelaagd, subtiel en heerlijk. Perfect Serve Dit is een subtiele, delicate gin - en heeft dus een bijpassende tonic nodig.
