Nginious Swiss Blended Gin The story of nginious! started in 2014, when Iris and Oliver Ullrich launched the brand in Switzerland. They quickly gained an international reputation as a brand which created new and innovative flavours as well as honest gins. Since then, they have expanded into liqueurs and other drinks. Their first creation, which started their business and journey, is this - their Swiss Blended Gin. To create it, they take a blend of 18 different botanicals; Juniper, barberry, laurel fruit, citrus and sweet orange peel, fresh grapefruit, cardamom, hay flower, clover blossoms, bee balm, verbena, hyssop, chamomile, black currant leaves, orris root, carline thistle root, galangal, liquorice. The result is a seriously fresh and well-balanced gin - with a herbal bitterness which helps balance it perfectly. Each of the botanicals shine through, with none overpowering the other. Floral and citrus notes, along with the gentle herbal bitterness ensure a well-rounded flavour profile. More from Nginious! Perfect Serve With it's slightly higher than usual alcohol percentage, we found that adding tonic opened up the flavours in the gin even more. We like this served with grapfruit zest, and a neutral tonic which enhances the botanicals. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently. Garnish with a slice or two or grapefruit.
