Seasons after Fall is an action adventure game in the convention of a platformer in which we try to restore balance in the natural world in the form of a fox. The title was created by the independent French studio Swing Swing Submarine, founded in 2009, with such productions as Block That Matter and Tetrobot and Co. The game appeared on PCs and eighth generation consoles.
Story
The plot of the game takes us to a world where the classic seasons disappear, which causes colossal changes in the life of the forest and the whole of nature. We play the role of a friendly fox who sets off on a journey to find the four seasons' guardians and restore balance in the world. However, it will not be a completely ordinary journey, because our protagonist can use powerful powers that allow him to manipulate the environment."
Gameplay
The gameplay mechanics of the game for PC, XONE and PS4 draws from classic platform games from the metroidvania sub-genre, and the fun comes down to traversing subsequent locations (including forests, rivers and caves), filled with more or less sophisticated obstacles. As the game progresses and finds new seasons guardians, our hero takes on their powers, which allows him to influence the surrounding environment and deal with new puzzles. For example, when summoning winter, you can freeze a wild waterfall to safely cross it, and by summoning spring, you can contribute to faster growth of plants, on the stems of which you can get to seemingly inaccessible areas.
