Agapanthus Pretty Heidi is the perfect variety for Agapanthus lovers looking for a bit of a lighter twist when it comes to the flower colour. This variety bears buds that start out deep blue, but the flowers become lighter once they open up. These large flower heads are upheld on stems up to 50cm tall, which is more compact than most Agapanthus and makes them perfect for pots. They form a mound of deciduous foliage, complete with the classic long, thin Agapanthus leaves that we all know and love. The flowers will begin to show in mid to late Summer, and due to this being a fairly late flowering variety they can remain into mid Autumn, making them a great choice to fill an otherwise colourless spot for those months after the summer when other plants are beginning to die down and drop their flowers. They will also come back year after year provided they’re protected from freezing temperatures throughout the Winter months, so provided you’ve got a greenhouse these perennials are sure to keep the garden looking its best for years!
