Med ægtefælleloven, der trådte i kraft 1. januar 2018, har ægtefæller fået klar lovhjemmel til at indgå aftaler om sumsæreje og sumdeling. Ud fra en umiddelbart betragtning er aftaler om sumsæreje og sumdeling simple og overskuelige for ægtefæller, da en ægtefælles særeje eller delingsformue er fikseret til et bestemt beløb. Imidlertid giver sumsæreje- og sumdelingsaftaler anledning til en del tvivlsspørgsmål både ved aftaleindgåelsen, under ægteskabet og ved ægtefælleskiftet som følge af separation, skilsmisse eller død. I denne bog, som er en revideret udgave af forfatterens ph.d.- afhandling, behandles disse tvivlsspørgsmål nærmere. Det analyseres eksempelvis, om reglerne om reguleringskrav finder anvendelse, når ægtefæller har aftalt sumsæreje eller sumdeling. Forfatteren, Nikolaj Maul Sørensen, er adjunkt ved Juridisk Institut på Aarhus Universitet med særligt fokus på dansk familieformueret og dansk arveret.
