Mount Pleasant Elizabeth Semillon - 2009 - Hvidvin - Den Sidste Flaske

Frisk australsk Semillon fra en prisvindende vingård - Et formidabelt glas hvidvin med noget historie på bagen! Her kan vi præsentere en yndefuld hvidvin lavet på Semillon-druen. Vinen kommer fra den populære vinregion, Hunter Valley, hvor den er produceret på vingården Mount Pleasant.  Mount Pleasant har siden 1921 produceret kvalitetsrig vin, og er især kendte for denne Elizabeth Semillion, som første gang kom i produktionen tilbage i 1967. Egentlig blev Mount Pleasant stiftet af Maruice O'Shea tilbage i 1921, i det sydlige Hunter Valley, men er sidenhen blevet opkøbt af det andet populære vin-brand, McWilliam's Wines. McWilliam's fik øjnene op for den fremragende kvalitet som Mount Pleasant leverede, og slog til ved først at opkøbe 50% af vingården, og sidenhen 100%. Denne hvidvin er med sin alkoholprocent på 10,5%, en vin du sagtens kan drikke i hverdagen, bare for at få lidt luksuriøst ind i din hverdag. Den har en dejlig smag med smagsnoter af citrus, citron og lime, der bliver forstærket af en frisk syrelighed og en lang finish. Vinen har aromatiske duftnuancer af friske limefrugter, citron og afskåret græs der giver vinen en fin kompleksitet. Grundet dens fine syrestruktur og citrus har vinen også et godt potentiale ift. opbevaring, hvilket også gør årgangen helt ideel at skulle drikke nu i 2020.  Vinen bør serveres ved en serveringstemperatur på 10-11 grader.  Der er altså tale om en vin med lidt historik på bagen, og netop denne Elizabeth Semillon har været et af Mount Pleasant's stærkeste brands siden 1960'erne. Hvorfor ikke give den et skud, og få en bedre forståelse for hvordan denne yndefulde citrusfriske hvidvin blev så populær, når den samtidig kommer til en skarp pris? Madguide Vinen her vil være et rigtig godt match til retter bestående af fed fisk. Eksempelvis en grillet laks med en cremet skaldyssauce til, samt lidt frisk salat. Nyd den på terrassen under solen, og bemærk den perfekte symbiose imellem den yndefulde vin og den delikate laks.
