Jürgen Moltmann’s Doctrine of the Image of God examines the doctrine of the Image of God in the interpretation of contemporary theologian Jürgen Moltmann. A Reformed theologian from Germany, Moltmann espouses the doctrine in a way that creates a blurring of the Creator-creation distinction. This work identifies the problem with Moltmann’s formulation of the doctrine of the image of God as stemming from Moltmann’s rejection of classical theism or monotheism. He replaces it with the notion of transcendental immanence, together with Trinitarian pantheism, accentuated by means of Hegelian dialectics in alignment with Eastern Orthodox perspectives of the Trinity. The Image of God is first allocated in an individual and by extension includes the entire global community. In addition, the biblical idea of Christ as the true image, the soteriological understanding of believers as beings in union with Christ, and the theological idea of covenant all express similar thoughts. Within this outlook, human beings reflect the divine without the divine needing to be joined to human beings.

The term «person» has been important in the development of the doctrine of the Trinity. Modern uses of the word, however, have changed drastically its meaning and have raised serious questions about the lasting significance of the definition of the Trinity produced by the controversies of the patristic era. For this reason, some modern theologians have argued in favor of rephrasing traditional formulas, particularly the Trinitarian formula of one God in three persons. Others have contended that the term «person» should be retained in Trinitarian theology, because the modern notion of an individual center of consciousness and action helps to express the relationships among the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This book analyzes and evaluates the Trinitarian theology of Wolfhart Pannenberg (1928–) and the importance that he attributes to the term «person.» In addition, this study provides an overview of key themes in the systematic expression of his theology in general and summarizes his treatment of the term’s use throughout the history of Trinitarian theology. The crucial discussion in the present work takes the form of an analysis of Pannenberg’s Trinitarian theology and his use of the term «person» with particular emphasis on the way this material is developed in his systematic theology. This book identifies and examine the changing roles of Nigerian women: in the family, educational attainment and society as experienced and expressed by a sample of educated, Nigerian women. Five of the participants were children caught in Biafran (Nigerian) war and their education was interrupted during the war. All struggle to gain education as girls and women growing up in Nigeria in families with sometimes limited resources. The book is based on the assumption that changes are taking place at all levels of Nigerian society, and that these changes are reflected in the way Nigerian women think and express views about themselves and their extended families. Nine Nigerian women resident in Egypt, were interviewed in depth using the ''topical life history'' method to reveal their attitudes and perceptions concerning the woman''s role in the family. In lengthy, free form, non-directive interviews, the participants recount their life histories from small children to the present day, and in this process comment and reveal their feelings about personal, family and social issues. Based on a literature review some eight hypotheses are identified and examined concerning these issues and the participants'' views about them. The response data are grouped under the hypotheses and analyzed. Conclusions suggest changing role patterns of women as expressed by these women from lower- and middle-class families, concerning education male and female children, bearing progeny, polygamy, earning income to provide for the family, marriage, male domination and influences and pressures from the extended family.
