The base of the Silver Sky "Dead Spec" is a lightweight swamp ash (rather than alder) body with a satin nitro finish The bridge is a fixed modified Gen III tremolo, which will make the tuning even more stable of the guitar. Keeping the tremolo brass block in the equation adds musical warmth to the instrument. At the other end of the strings is a brass nut and retaining bar, which also contributes to the resonance and tone of the guitar. The Dead Spec Silver Sky jack plate has been replaced by an Alembic Blaster brass preamp. This preamp can be used as a simple boost, but it has an internal knob that adds between 3 and 14 dB of gain to the guitar when activated. This not only helps to give the Dead Spec Silver Sky more oomph while maintaining a crisp definition of the notes.
