He had a large passion for LEGO which was the starting point for Tom's lively imagination. Tom Rossau passion for design started in the 90s, when he opened his very own shop in Copenhagen, and designed and sewed leather clothing. Since 2004, however, he chose to work primarily with natural wood veneer. In the beginning it was only possible to buy his uniquely beautiful lamps in his old shop in Istedgade in Copenhagen, but in 2006 the models TR4, TR5, TR6 and TR7 were were introduced to a wider audience at Copenhagen's Møbelmesse, where TR7 received "Audience Favorite Award". Although the business continues to boom, Tom Rossau sticks to the company's original values and core. He thought it was a magical experience to design, and to see the prototypes and the materials develop during the design process. He gets a kick out of the entire design process, and finds his inspiration all over the world, but at the same time also lets the possibilities of the materials inspire him. In fact, he believes that the material is the designer, and he is merely the helper who assembles the lamps, fetches screws and fastens the ends.
