Football Manager 2016 is the twelfth part of the most popular series of football managers in the world. The British Sports Interactive studio and SEGA are still responsible for creating the game. The series was launched in 1992 and for the first 10 years was known as Championship Manager. Since then, players have been regularly receiving new episodes, containing numerous improvements and fixes, thanks to which the developers have gained a faithful crowd of fans who spend hundreds of hours playing with new games from Football Manager every year. Football Manager 2016 allows us to play the manager of a selected football team, fighting in the league games of one of 50 selected countries. As usual, players set their own goals - you can try to lead an unknown local team to the turfs of the largest stadiums or lead the championship team through another successful season. Veterans of the series will find in the game all the elements known from the previous parts. The players get advanced training tools that allow them to set tactics on the pitch and develop the career of individual players. The way of presenting statistics has been developed, making them more readable and transparent, and additional functions make it even easier to control the flood of various data. Thanks to developers' consultations with physiotherapists and doctors, the injury system was modified. Diseases and injuries (divided into different groups) that occur on the turf are presented in a more realistic way, which means that their impact on the game and the rehabilitation process will be different than in the previous titles in the series. During the game, we also deal with the business side of running the team, as well as contacts with the media. The latter aspect has been extended to include new options, such as organizing press conferences and giving interviews. We will watch the games of our players live thanks to a 3D engine simulating the matches. For the 2016 version, over 2,000 new player movement animations have been re-created.

We are talking mainly about the possibility of fighting both on land and at sea in a full 3D view, detailed maps of each campaign and extended diplomatic mechanisms. The game also offers a number of new solutions that make the fun much more attractive. Diplomatic options have been significantly expanded. We can now make demands on other nations and demand that they break off a given alliance, declare war on someone, or introduce an embargo. The army feeding system was also added. When we force our soldiers to tear through harsh terrain, soldiers start to starve. In extreme cases, we can lose an entire army in this way. Spies now play a key role, not only collecting information about enemy armies, but also sabotaging and delaying their march. During the battles, generals also gained a new meaning, who can additionally cheer up soldiers or gather them into punitive units when they try to flee the battlefield. The artificial intelligence has also been significantly improved in every aspect of the game. During the campaign, computer-controlled nations behave much more logically. However, during battles, defeating enemies is more problematic than in Empire, and our units respond to orders much faster and more efficiently. Naval skirmishes were enriched with ship repairs during the battle itself. In total, 322 unique units and more technically advanced weapons are available to the players. The character of the main character was thrown into the fray - as Napoleon always took an active part in the battle, also in the game leading his soldiers among the ranks raises their morale. Particularly interesting and valuable is the reward received for accomplishing important things faster than Napoleon actually did. Graphically, you can see progress since Empire: Total War. Buildings on the battlefield have been improved, the surroundings and details such as various balloons and clouds have been reproduced very accurately. The producer also tried to have many more different faces of the soldiers than in the previous parts. The seasons change and the weather, which has an impact on the course of fights, e.g. rain adversely affects gunpowder. The whole thing is very realistic.
