The Fall is a unique combination of an adventure game, a puzzle game and a two-dimensional shooter with platform elements. The game is the debut project of the independent studio Over the Moon Games, founded by industry veteran John Warren. The developer was inspired by the literary works of Isaac Asimov and games such as The Monkey Island and Super Metroid . The Fall production was founded in 2013 thanks to a fundraiser on the Kickstarter website.StoryAction The Fall takes place on a distant planet. The main character of the game is the ARID artificial intelligence built into a futuristic military suit. When the pilot is injured and loses consciousness, the program takes control of the suit to save its owner's life.GameplayGameplay in The Fall focuses on aspects such as exploring the environment, fighting enemies and solving logical tasks. The player can use many items found to solve puzzles. One of the characteristic elements of the game is the need to follow the rules programmed in the ARID memory. However, not all of them are unambiguous and mutually consistent. The player is thus forced to use the internal contradictions in artificial intelligence in order to be able to take actions motivated by a higher goal - saving a person.
