Mepilex Border is een all-in-one schuimverband waarvan is bewezen dat het pijn voor de patiënt en trauma voor de wond en de omliggende huid minimaliseert. Het verband is ontwikkeld voor matig tot sterk exsuderende chronische en acute wonden, zoals doorligwonden, beenulcera, traumatische wonden en postoperatieve wonden. Het absorbeert en houdt exsudaat vast en behoudt een vochtig wondmilieu. De Safetac laag sluit de wondranden af waardoor exsudaat niet wegsijpelt naar de omliggende huid, zodat het risico op maceratie wordt geminimaliseerd. De Safetac laag zorgt ervoor dat het verband verwisseld kan worden zonder de wond of omliggende huid te beschadigen of de patiënt meer pijn te bezorgen.Het is bewezen dat Mepilex Border doorligwonden helpt voorkomen wanneer het verband samen met een standaardprotocol voor de preventie van doorligwonden gebruikt wordt.
